Here comes the owner of the most eccentric and colorful tails in nature, the Planthopper Nymph. This is a tiny creature that sparks out dazzling tails from its butt. Planthopper is an insect that bears resemblance to leaves and plants of the environment that it dwells in. They are famous for their quick movements that are quite similar to that of grasshoppers. Their walk is fairly slow so as to keep unwanted attention from predators at bay.
Their existence is distributed worldwide. Classed under the Hemiptera group, they are scientifically known as Fulgoromorpha. They mainly feed on plants, and only surprisingly few are considered as pests.
The tail is nothing but wax that is expelled due to many prudent reasons, like distracting predators and descending slowly when it falls through the air.
This puffed-tailed creature is mostly found in South African regions.
